The women from the "I am a Woman, I am an Electrician" program visit the Indeco by Nexans Plant
Nov 21, 2023We had the privilege of hosting the five women who were recipients of the full scholarship from the "Soy mujer, Soy electricista" program, aimed at pursuing the technical career of Industrial Electricity. During this encounter, the young women engaged in a dialogue with members of our organization, including the General Manager of Indeco By Nexans, Alex García; the Sustainability Leader of the Andean region, Alonso Fernández; the Corporate Communication Manager of the Andean region, Luciana Ormeño, and other distinguished members of the Indeco by Nexans committee.
Throughout this initial visit, these five women explored various production areas, closely witnessing each phase of the manufacturing process. Additionally, they had the opportunity to observe tests conducted on our cables, highlighting the quality that characterizes us.
This meeting not only strengthened the connections between the participants and the leaders of Indeco by Nexans but also fostered a enriching exchange of experiences and knowledge. We take pride in promoting gender equity in such a vital sector as electricity.
At Indeco by Nexans, we reaffirm our commitment to gender equality and female empowerment. We wholeheartedly advocate for more women to join these careers and this sector, which has traditionally been dominated by men. Every step we take in this direction fills us with satisfaction and reinforces our determination to build a future where diversity and equality illuminate the landscape of the electrical sector.
