Premium Cable
Premium Nexans Medium Voltage Aluminum Power Cable meets all the requirements of the IEC 60502-2 Standard. It has a 1350 aluminum conductor, concentric stranded with humidity blocking, cross-linked polyethylene insulation (XLPE-TR), concentric neutral in copper wires, water blocking tapes before and after the neutral wires, polyethylene jacket, resistant to heat, solar rays, abrasion and humidity. Compounds free of hazardous substances (RoHS).
Application and Features
Power supply of 18/30(36) kV Medium Voltage circuits, mainly the connection between the feeder transformer and the electrical distribution network. Cables suitable for installation in outdoors exposed to sunlight, underground ducts, directly buried, in dry or wet locations.
Main features:
- Directly buried installation, according to IEC 60502-2 standard.
- Sunlight resistance, according to ICEA S-93-639 standard.
- Cable designed to be permanently submerged in water according to the condition AD8, according to the test procedure of the NBR 14039 standard.
Construction
1. Conductor: Compacted Aluminum, class B with moisture blocking.
2. Internal semi-conductor: Extruded compound.
3. Insulation: Cross-linked polyethylene XLPE-TR (Tree retardant).
4. External semi-conductor: Peelable extruded compound.
These last three components extruded in CV (continuous vulcanization) of triple extrusion in the dry curing process.
5. Concentric Neutral: Made up of copper wires N=16mm2, with water blocking tapes before and after the wires.
6. Outer jacket: LDPE compound resistant to heat, abrasion and humidity, resistant to solar rays (SR), black color.
Ampacity and Reactance Conditions
- Ampacities of Three Single-Insulated Aluminum Conductors in Air Based on Conductor Temperatures of 90° C and Ambient Air Temperature of 30°C, trefoil configuration. According to IEC 60502-2, Table B.3.
- Ampacities of Three Single-Insulated Aluminum Conductors Buried direct in the ground, Based on Ambient Earth Temperature of 20°C, Depth of layin of 0.8 m, Thermal resistivity of soil 1.5 K.m/W, Conductor Temperatures of 90°C, screens bonded at both ends According to IEC 60502-2, Table B.3.
- Inductive Reactance to 90°C, 60Hz, 3 conductors spaced 1 diameter. Trifoil and flat configuration.
NOTE:
- The data reported here are nominal and are subject to tolerances according to standards and normal manufacturing practices.
- Other configurations not specified in this catalog may be available under special request and minimum manufacturing quantitie.
RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE SELECTION OF ACCESSORIES AND DUCTS
The technical information presented here is for reference purposes only. Actual dimensions and construction details will only be available with the test reports for each manufacturing order. For the selection of accessories and/or ducts, it is recommended to measure directly on the actual dimensions of the cable using the appropriate methods and instruments.
