Fondation Nexans announces 2024 Call for Projects winners
Jul 22, 2024On 22 July, Fondation Nexans announced the eleven projects that will be developed this year at a global level, with the aim of building a more sustainable and equitable future. The selected projects represent a wide range of initiatives to be developed in eleven countries and that will have a significant impact on various communities around the world. The winning NGOs include LITRO DE LUZ Brazil, UN TECHO PARA CHILE, TECHO COLOMBIA, ACCESMAD in Madagascar, among others.
In the year 2023 in Peru, we worked hand in hand with the Fondation Nexans and the NGO TECHO PERÚ, to install 60 light poles equipped with solar panels, in the districts of San Juan de Miraflores and San Juan de Lurigancho; thus benefiting more than 100 families. This year, for the second time, the Fondation Nexans will finance a new project of the NGO TECHO PERU, to continue transforming lives through sustainable solutions.
The project will address challenges in the settlements of Portada del Sol in San Juan de Miraflores, Incorporados de Nueva Jerusalén in San Juan de Lurigancho and Hijos de Terrazas in Ventanilla, in Lima. Where solar-powered street lighting poles will be installed to improve the quality of life and safety of the inhabitants. Unlike last year, this initiative will go beyond public lighting, as TECHO PERU will also install solar panels in community centers, thus promoting the use of clean energy and reducing dependence on fossil fuels.
At Indeco by Nexans, we reaffirm our commitment to promote the construction of a sustainable energy future and to play an active role as an agent of change in society.
