Indeco by Nexans participates in the Enel Meetup 2023 event
May 5, 2023On May 4th, we participated in the "Enel Meetup 2023" event, where various initiatives and actions focused on promoting the country's energy transition were presented. As part of the panel "Companies with Purpose," Oscar Jaimes, Plant Manager, spoke about all the actions that Indeco by Nexans has been carrying out to contribute to carbon neutrality and the construction of the energy future we long for: safe, sustainable, renewable, decarbonized, and accessible for everyone.
Among the different initiatives we shared were those related to energy efficiency, waste management, and circular economy, such as copper and reel recycling. We reaffirmed our commitment to reduce our carbon footprint by 4.2% annually, among other things, through the I-REC certification, which confirms that the energy used in our facilities comes from renewable sources. However, our efforts are not only focused on our own actions, but also on contributing to the development of renewable projects in the country. That's why we also shared about our participation in the largest wind farm in the region, Horizonte, in Chile, as well as the Punta Lomitas project in Peru and Colombia's main solar parks, such as La Loma ENEL.
With all this, we reaffirm our commitment to sustainability and how it is present in every decision we make today, from creating an offer, the relationship with our suppliers, managing our plant, choosing our customers, etc. Sustainability is an intrinsic element in our business decisions. Enel Meet Up has given us the opportunity to showcase our contributions to the environment and our contribution to society.
